To fit head circumference 55-57 cm [21-22″].
Materials and tools
Yarn: Drops LIMA. 50 g [1.8 oz] = 100 m [109 yds]. 2 skeins.
Circular knitting needles 5 mm [US 8], 40 cm [16″] long.
Sewing needle.
Gauge (Tension)
In Stockinette stitch:
10 cm [4”] = 21 stitches, 27 rows.
Instructions
Work in pattern (as established) means that you will work as previously stated, without changing the position of the pattern.
BOR – beginning of the round.
K – knit.
K2togL – knit 2 stitches together left leaning.
P – purl.
RS – right side.
WS – wrong side.
1×1 ribbing: P1, K1. Repeat to the end of the round.
Stitch no.2:
Hat
Cast on 120 stitches using the long tail cast on technique.
Join for working in the round and place the BOR marker.
Work 46 rounds in 1×1 ribbing. 16.5cm [6½”].
Next, work 34 rounds in Stitch no.2.
Decrease:
Rounds 1-2: K2togL to the end of the round.
Finishing
Cut the yarn. Close up the top of the hat: using the sewing needle thread the yarn through remaining stitches. Pull the yarn.
Weave in the loose ends.
