Size
To fit head circumference 55-57 cm [21-22″].
You will need
Yarn: Worsted (9 wpi). NAKO Superlambs Special. Approx. 180 m [196 yds].
Circular knitting needles 5 mm [US 8], 40 cm [16″] and 80 cm [32″] long.
Sewing needle.
Stitch marker.
Gauge
In Stockinette stitch:
10 cm [4”] = 20 stitches, 25 rows.
Instructions
1×1 ribbing: K1, P1.
Knobby stitch:




Abbreviations
BOR – beginning of the round
K – knit
P – purl
RS – right side
WS – wrong side
P2tog – purl 2 stitches together
K1tbl (Ktbl) – knit 1 stitch through back loop.
K2togL – knit 2 stitches together left leaning
Hat
Cast on 120 stitches (+1 stitch to join in round).
Join for working in the round.
Turn the work.
Slip 1 stitch to the right needle and place BOR marker.
Work 11.5 cm [4½”] in 1×1 ribbing.
Then, work 13 cm [5¼”] in Knobby stitch.
Decrease:
Round 1: P2tog, K1tbl.
Round 2: P1, K1tbl.
Round 3: P1, K2togL until you have 1 stitch left, K1.
Round 4: K2togL, K1.
Close up the top of the hat
Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail.
Thread the yarn through remaining stitches with the sewing needle, leaving a small loop.
Thread the yarn through the loop.
Pull the yarn.
Bring the yarn to WS and weave in the loose ends.
