Size
  • Width: 38 cm [15″].
  • Length: 142 cm [56″].
You will need

Yarn: Sport (12 wpi). 1150 m [1257 yds].

Knitting needles 3.5 mm [US 4].

Suggested yarn:

  • ALIZE Baby Wool
  • DROPS Baby Alpaca Silk
  • DROPS Baby Merino
Gauge (Tension)

In Stockinette stitch:

10 cm [4”] = 26 stitches, 33 rows.

Instructions

Edge stitches:

  • purl the first and the last stitch of the right-side row,
  • knit the first and the last stitch of the wrong-side row.

Work in pattern (as established) means that you will work as previously stated, without changing the position of the pattern.

K – knit.

Ktbl – knit through back loop.

P – purl.

RS – right side.

WS wrong side.

Stitch no.1:

The charts show only the RS rows, on the WS rows work the stitches as they appear (knit the knits and purl the purls).

Stitch no.2:

RS: K, WS: P
RS: P, WS: K
make a bobble

Make a bobble: {K1, K1tbl, K1, K1tbl} into the same stitch, turn the work, P4, turn the work, slip 3 stitches with yarn in back, K1, pass 3 slipped stitches over the last stitch you knitted. (Here is a video tutorial on how to make bobbles)

Shawl

Cast on 133 stitches.

Row 1 (WS): P to the end of the row.

Work 30 cm [11¾”] in Stitch no. 1, ending on Row 6 or Row 12.

Next 18 rows: work in Stitch no.2.

Next 2 rows: work rows 5-6 of the Stitch no.1.

Next 18 rows: work in Stitch no.2.

Next 2 rows: work rows 11-12 of the Stitch no.1. ✓

Repeat from ✓ to ✓ until the shawl measures 106 cm [41¾”] from the cast on edge.

Work 18 rows in Stitch no.2.

Then, work 30 cm [11¾”] in Stitch no.1, ending on Row 4 or Row 10.

Cast off.
