You will need

Yarn: DK (11 wpi). Approx. 580 m [634 yds].

Knitting needles 4 mm [US 6].

Cable needle.

Suggested yarn:

  • ALIZE Superlana Klasik;
  • BBB New master;
  • DROPS Merino extra fine;
  • DROPS Lima.
Gauge (Tension)

In Stockinette stitch:

10 cm [4”] = 21 stitches, 28 rows.

Instructions

Edge stitches: slip the first stitch of the row, purl the last stitch of the row.

K – knit.

K2togR – knit 2 stitches together right leaning.

P – purl.

RS – right side.

WS wrong side.

Stitch no.1:

place 2 stitches onto a cable needle behind the work, K1, K2 from the cable needle

Increase:

1. Place 1 stitch onto a cable needle in front of the work:

2. Pick up the right side of the stitch below and place it on the left needle:

3. K2;

4. K1 from the cable needle:

Decrease:

1. Place 1 stitch onto a cable needle in front of the work;

2. K2togR;

3. K1 from the cable needle.

Shawl

Cast on 7 stitches.

Row 1 and every following WS row: slip the edge stitch, P to the end of the row.

Row 2 (RS): slip the edge stitch, work Stitch no.1, work the increase, P the edge stitch.

Row 4 (RS): slip the edge stitch, work Stitch no.1, K until you have 3 stitches left, work the increase, P the edge stitch.

Repeat row 4 every other row, until you have 130 stitches.

Next RS row (decrease): slip the edge stitch, work Stitch no.1, K until you have 4 stitches left, work the decrease, P the edge stitch.

Repeat the decrease row every other row, until you have 7 stitches left.

Cast off.
